How to Whitewash Jeans

Have you ever wanted to change the color of your jeans? Maybe you have found the perfect pair of pants but not the right wash? I know I have. So I am so happy there is a simple solution to changing the color of my jeans, and it is so simple.

Supplies:

– Bleach

-Water

-Bucket or sink

Step 1:

With your bucket or sink, fill up a solution that is 2 parts water to 1 part bleach. Since I was doing shorts, I only needed 8 cups water, 4 cups bleach.  (My shorts were already light, I just wanted a small change so I used 2 cups bleach.)

Step 2:Fold your pants or shorts in half and place in the bleach solution. Always use plastic gloves when using bleach, I couldn’t find any so I improvised and used a zip lock bag.

Step 3:

Leave in for at least 30 min to an hour, flipping every so often. I left mine in for 8 hours, flipped it at 4 hours.

Step 4:

Take them out, put through in the wash and you’re done! Super easy way to change the wash of your pants. There are so many variations you can do with this method. You can put less bleach in if you want just a slight fade, do only part for an ombre effect, or tie them up with rubber bands for a tie-dye effect.
